Pluto: no longer a planet

On August 24, 2006, pluto was no longer considered a planet. It is considered a "dwarf planet" now along with 44 other known dwarf planets. Pluto was demoted to a dwarf planet because it does not dominate it's atmosphere. Most planets are much larger than their moons, while Pluto is only twice the size of its moon.

The Solar System

The solar system is a very intriguing topic. It has so many different aspects that have researchers have been studying for centuries. There are new findings and discoveries all the time. There are planets, moons, stars, comets, asteroids, meteors, etc. There are currently 140 known moons, or satellites   orbiting planets today.
